Dairy Queen - Sioux City

It's gone, and I'm not sure why. I just moved back and walked into Walmart, only to find that Dairy Queen has disappeared, which was my favorite place.

I've visited this restaurant twice since relocating from Louisiana, and both times I experienced fantastic customer service. The food is excellent, and the staff is very friendly!

The sign at the entrance indicated that masks were mandatory for safety, yet when I stepped inside, I saw that none of the staff behind the counter were wearing them. In fact, only one customer was masked. This inconsistency is quite baffling—how can a restaurant promote mask-wearing while failing to enforce it? I would have expected the staff who handle food to wear masks, but they did not. Thankfully, the woman who delivered my food was wearing gloves. Although the food was okay, I found myself using hand sanitizer more often than I would have liked. This restaurant really needs to step up its safety protocols during the pandemic, or I won’t be returning anytime soon. Moreover, I noticed an elderly man walking behind the counter and into the kitchen area without a mask. He might have been a family member of an employee, but that should not be allowed, especially in these circumstances.

On July 28, 2022, I went to celebrate Ice Cream Day but couldn't find the Dairy Queen. The Walmart staff let me know that it had closed down quite some time ago. It was really disappointing, especially since there were other Dairy Queen locations we could have visited while passing through town.
