I typically order a steak burrito, but the menu has a wide variety of options if you're feeling adventurous. Today, I tried the cochinita pibil and it was delicious! Don't forget to ask for their green salsa, it has a tangy yet smooth flavor, almost like it's made with avocado. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food they offer. Definitely the best in the city.
I have been dining at this restaurant for years and have always had a good experience. However, during my last visit, I ordered a beef burrito that was delicious. I ate half of it and saved the rest for the next day. When I ate the second half, I experienced a stomachache and briefly threw up. I realized that the meat was quite fatty, which may have been the cause of my discomfort. I typically only eat lean meats at home for health reasons, so my body may not have been accustomed to the high fat content. I don't believe it was food poisoning, and I don't want to give a bad review to this restaurant as I have enjoyed dining here in the past. I just wanted to caution others who may have trouble digesting fatty foods.
I used to love this restaurant, but my opinion changed after a recent visit with a younger family member when we were in a hurry. We waited for 35 minutes for our order, first in the drive-through, then in the parking lot, and finally inside the restaurant. There was a young male employee, around 14-15 years old, working alone at the front, with only two cooks in the back. They claimed they were short-staffed due to current circumstances, but I had experienced similar delays before. They only accept cash, which makes me question their motives to maximize profits and avoid taxes. I am disappointed in this restaurant and their practices.
I loved this place until I went there one night when I had a younger family member with me, we were both in a hurry. I waited for my order (in the drive through window, then the parking lot, then inside the restaurant) for 35 minutes. They have a young male 14-15 year old working the front all the time by himself. 2 cooks in the back. They said they were “short staffed” to go along with what is going on along with the trying times. No. They do this before all that because I was going here before, they do it to maximize the cash. Also it’s cash only. I’m getting tired of every certain kind of restaurant doing this to avoid paying taxes, employees…
I came here with my boyfriend right before they closed, they gave us dry food and looked like it was old, tortilla was cold and dry, it’s the next day and we still can’t stop throwing up, we definitely got food poisoning. Don’t come here.
