As a Thai, I really miss papaya salad. It seems like what I had was just papaya mixed with fish sauce. In my country, even preschoolers can make it better! I have no idea where they learned to cook Thai food. The Tom Yum Goong and Massaman curry were nothing like the authentic versions. Even the fried chicken was far from true Thai flavors. I've never tasted Thai food like this before, and it was terrible. I'm not a picky person, but this is just the truth. Please don’t compromise our famous Thai cuisine. It’s also quite sad that both my friend and I ended up with diarrhea afterward.
Now, let's talk about the food. I ordered two appetizers: fried pot stickers and shrimp mermaids. The pot stickers were good, but unfortunately, the shrimp was overcooked, making it chewy and rubbery. I was surprised when my appetizers arrived just three minutes after ordering. I managed to eat only two pot stickers and one shrimp mermaid before our main dishes were brought out, which was impressively fast service. As for the main dishes, the broccoli was raw, which is fine, but a quick sauté or blanching would have improved it. The mushrooms were flavorful, but going back to the shrimp, it remained overcooked and rubbery. The sauce mixed with it was extremely salty, and it tasted greasy, almost old and gritty. Additionally, the shrimp had a raw, fishy smell. I also tried the house-made spicy chili oil on the table, but it turned out to be made with recycled oil, which was disappointing. Overall, I don’t think I’ll be returning to this restaurant.
Nice inside, very comfortable. Good service. Has a TV. The dumplings and sauce was excellent. I had the shrimp with rice and pineapple in a pineapple so good. My daughter had chicken with mango. Everything was so so good.
On a -6° night, I wanted soup. When I want soup, I want some sort of Asian, slow simmering soup that makes me think of my mom's kitchen. So Pad Thai isn't authentic Thai food, but it is good south East Asian food. I had the fried dumplings, hot teaand beef and noodle soup (aka pho). My only real complaint was that I didn't have Thai basil but rather regular basil whichcomes close, but doesn't quite hit the same mark. Service was very quick, I bet I waited less than 10 minutes for my appetizerand entree to come out simultaneously but everything was hot and delicious.
