We stayed two nights at the hotel where I had booked a triple room in advance. In the end we were only two because our son had to stay at home for sports commitments. The hotel is in a wonderful location, right at the end of the beautiful Sirmione Peninsula. Surrounded by olive trees, cypress trees, with a spectacular swimming pool immersed in the greenery of these plants which, together with the twittering of the birds, create an 'enchanted atmosphere of peace. The room is spacious with a large terrace overlooking the lake and clean. However, there are some painful notes. The furniture is not worthy of the hotel's location. He stood still in the 70s. The floors, the curtains, the carpet, the blankets of the beds, the living room in the lobby, everything knows about stantium and needs to be renewed. But from the scene to which, unfortunately, I have seen, obviously the resources are scarce. The poor cook argued in the Neapolitan, but very understandable, with the receptionist, of the lack of payment of his salary. The bright tone and the exasperated attitude of a person who holds family and who works 12 hours a day made thinking about an enchanted situation. This also explains the fact that I was charged the entire cost of the room and breakfasts, as if we had been in three. I understand the cancellation policies, but since we came for the predetermined period, only with a person less, since the hotel was half empty, so we certainly did not steal a triple to anyone, as the receptionist told us on arrival, well... I expected to pay for two. Coming up a little meeting with customers makes them return, the contrary, loses them. At Aquaria, for example, they gave us the opportunity to reuse the missed entrance by returning it within 6 months. Evidently at the Ideal hotel they have a myopic policy. Looks like a dog biting his tail. If they invested in renovations, they would not rival because their position is truly unique. If they paid the employees, customers would not write terrible reviews about the waiters of their restaurant where we had booked but, after witnessing the remonstrations of the poor cook, after seeing a waitress just as annoyed to leave the dining room, after reading the reviews on the service, we declined. The crazy thing right at the beginning. I've never had such a crazy journey to a hotel as this journey. It goes through the pedestrian zone of the old town. Simone welcomes you here at the hotel, who really understands how to welcome guests. He always helps and with such joy and dedication that you get the impression that you have been welcomed into a family. The rest of the hotel, view, food, service, everything that goes with a great hotel, reflects Simone's great character. We will come back in any case. Thank you to everyone at the hotel.
