Feedback gevenThe setting is enchanting. It stops there. We should have known when the hotel was full and only 12 were in the restaurant. We ordered a 2013 bottle of wine, they brought a 2018 and opened it without showing the bottle. When called on the switch, they claimed they were out of the 2013, even though it was on their wine list. The champagne they offered as an apology never appeared. Beef Wellington was ordered medium rare. It appeared well done and we were told while they could cook it more, they could not uncook it. One of the waiters desperately needed a shower. In sum, ill prepared food and service at a premium price in a delightful setting.
Lovely meal with my partner sat listening to the piano on beautiful grounds. At the start the service was exceptional. Very attentive and friendly it was a shame that the standard was not kept up as the tables started to fill up. Never the less, all staff were really friendly and very good with languages. They were very knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Amazing drinks list. Good portion sizes. We were left feeling satisfied. It is an expensive meal but great for a treat
I can only rate the restaurant, not the hotel. Warm welcome received upon arrival and we had drinks on the terrace whilst listening to the resident pianist. Gin is about €14 plus tonic €8. Unfortunately the weather meant we didn’t eat outdoors but did so in the grand restaurant. It’s an enormous space but with few dinners felt very non-intimate. Appetizer were nice (c.€20-22 . There was an issue with my main which was immediately rectified. The fillet of beef was cooked perfectly. My wife’s pasta wasn’t but was ok. We didn’t have room for dessert (c.€20+ There was a mistake with the bar bill which was rectified after some discussion otherwise I’d have been overcharged by €40+ The maitre de was very helpful but his English isn’t great (although better than my Italian! Wine list needs refreshing This is an ‘old fashioned’ restaurant. The waiter knowing I was having steak, then brought me a spoon! I did find the whole place rather odd. Very difficult to describe. Luxury pricing without the icing on the cake. It was like stepping back into another era where there hadn’t been any updates. The waiters are all very young without the required skills. I had to go to the reception to sort the bill out. All very odd. Expensive compared to other fine dining restaurants Great pianist.
Soggiornando a Villa Cortine, abbiamo deciso di cenare, dopo aver prenotato, nel ristorante dell’hotel, Le Gardenie.Esperienza molto positiva, personale gentile e disponibile, cibo ottimo, il menu degustazione di “lago” vario, con buone porzioni e vari piatti.Ottimo il riso.Servizio ottimo, tavola ben apparecchiata, prezzi elevati ma in linea con le aspettative e con lo standing del locale.
Discreta scelta di piatti, tutti ben presentati e con ingredienti freschi. Tutti ottimi. Ambiente un po’ freddo e démodé. Costo forse leggermente superiore al giusto.
