The At Liss Ard - Skibbereen

Good the staff is exceptional, particularly Jenny and Esteban. The grounds are nice for walking around and exploring. The barman is great and the live Irish music a delight. Having boardgames was also nice as we could play on rainy days. Dinners were delicious. If you want to get out of the city and escape to nature, it's a good option. Not so good the majority of lampposts and lighting on the grounds are not working, so the walking trails are not safe after dark, even with cellphone lights. At the lake house the parking is away from the house which you also need to walk in the dark. An Irish country side getaway however it is not. The decor feels sparse, the breakfast area cold and awkward, and no where is there any Irish art or inspiration despite being in gorgeous West Cork it could've been anywhere in the world. The library and bar doesn't have enough seating for the amount of people who will want to sit and have a drink during busy times. And there's a pamphlet on the place's history but it's just a list of renovations and owners. Look up the history yourself, particularly about the garden wall.

Our three-night holiday stay was truly exceptional. The staff went above and beyond, making our experience unforgettable. From the beautifully renovated rooms to the scenic walking trails, cozy estate living rooms, and rejuvenating saunas, every aspect of this property is special. The dining experience was a highlight, with top-notch dinners and the included breakfast was personalized allowing us to select our meal from a series of menu items. Already discussing our next visit!

Myself and my daughter stayed in your beautiful estate. Anna looked after us from the moment I booked and right through our stay,which was originally booked for one night but we had to extend to full weekend as we didnt want to leave!!.Dinner,cocktails,treatments all carried out professionally and with such a high standard.Thank you Anna and all your colleagues for making our stay truly delightful.Kind regards and I hope to stay with you again.Caroline and Taylor-Rose Foley

The most attentive staff ive come across in Ireland. They couldn't do enough for you. Genuinely nice people. Dinner was wonderful. Our bedroom was lovely and spotless. Breakfast was a massive let down. The buffet was small and not much choice, warm juices, poor fruit salad selection. Coffee was weak and we were extremely disappointed with the whole breakfast. After forking out over €1100 for 2 nights to be told that the sauna was an additional €40 to use did not sit well with us. Lovely grounds we enjoyed the walk and the sky gardens. Great for a once off but I wouldn't return.

Excellent service and food from start to finish. Will go back.
