You would definitely have a good hike ahead of you if you decide to hike up. It was a gorgeous arch and the hike was very fun and scenic. Amazing bluffs, tight squeezing through large rocks, very fun.
First visit to Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge. Nice trails, cool underground kayak experience. Reservoir was great for kayaking. Grays Arch trail was a great day hike. Middle fork campground was a good location. Road noise was distracting. Restroom could have been better maintained. I would visit again.
We stayed at the luxury cabin “Sunday blues”red river gorge and also the mood light, which is a great cabin for solo or 2 people. Sunday blues has 3 bedrooms and space in the huge living room. It was so amazing . Both cabins were great. And the people that own them are amazing, very helpful, and will do anything then can to accommodate you and your family. They also send amazing directions to your cabin, and also all the state parks, and popular attractions around. My husband and I will never go anywhere else. We found our spot.
Nice balconies on the rooms, great restaurant on site, friendly staff, pool is such a weird location and the person staffing it was sleeping so we just went in since it was included with our room. The tavern closed because of issues which was a bummer but overall, great experience! The rooms block out noise which is great because the people under us were partying.Nearby activities: Great location to red river gorge
This review is based solely on lack of website description and functionality. I would not even leave a review if we hadn't talked to several other people who experienced the same issue(s). The only directions listed when receiving a confirmation email after booking our campsite were coming from Lexington. It does not specifically state that the two campgrounds you choose from are separated, but share the same address. Do NOT follow your GPS to the mailing location provided. Everything in the state park is under the same one! You also get directed back to the Kentucky parks or Reserve America page when trying to find anything. So, the pool listed under amenities is only free to cottage/lodge guests. It's $5 to the public and $4 if you're staying at one of the campgrounds (Middle Fork or Whittleton) and they are currently cash only!I hope this helps someone else not get lost or be as confused as several others have been due to lack of detailed information.
