KFC - Slave Lake

We ordered the eighteen-piece bucket with five sides and four drinks. We decided to save our meal until we got home. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The bucket only contained 6 thighs, 10 drumsticks, and the side dishes. There were no wings, breasts, or backs included. This meant that there were only 16 pieces of chicken, all of which were dark meat. The chicken did not taste like chicken at all and it was extremely greasy.

I have not been back to this KFC since June, now I know why. I went this past Wednesday night, Sept 30th with my boys, the girl was friendly at the front, then as we are standing and waiting , over 15 min for our chicken sandwiches to eat in the girl goes to the back, she is swearing because someone didn't show up, and by swearing it's the F word used over 3 times, while my 5 year old is beside me, then she is swearing other words, the 2 Filipino women working were very quiet, not this girl and her friend. Then to top it off she is pulling at her eye lashes blue contacts in must have had dry eyes) then goes to the back to put sauce on our buns, no gloves just dirty hands from picking her eye lashes. Instead of swearing and standing around she should clean, the place is still a pig pen, dirty tables, dirty windows, flies, sticky with Greece what ever you touch. My boys are their chicken dinners, I could not eat my chicken Sandwitch after she was picking her eyes. It's to bad because we love KFC food.

I went to this restaurant last week at 11am (when they opened) and found the bathroom to still be dirty from the night before. Last night, I took my boys for dinner and the food was hot and tasty. Our server, Marvie, was friendly and quick. However, the restaurant itself looked like a rundown dump from the 1960s - old, dated, and dirty. As we sat down to eat, we noticed sticky hand prints on the windows and dead flies on the window sills. This was a real turn off for us, as it made us question the cleanliness of the kitchen where the food is prepared.

The staff at this restaurant is excellent. Unlike some KFCs, they have a great team working here. However, I am only giving it an average rating because they were not willing to mix up our bucket without charging an extra fee for just one or two more thighs.

Recent visit and has a 5 dollar meal item. This was very satisfying as every other time at KFC I felt I had paid too much for quality of food I received. I hope 5 dollar menu is here to stay . I think it's a BIG plus.
