Dari Kabab Gyro - Smyrna

My boss had been telling me about this place for awhile. Told me how good the food is. She was right. I 'd give Dari more stars if I could. My husband and I went there to get food to go for a truck tailgate picnic. I love Near and Middle Eastern food; my husband isn 't so adventurous, but he agreed to go. This place won him over. He told me he was glad I encouraged us to finally give them a try! So, I 'd like to encourage you to give Dari Kebab Gyro a try, too. We got a veggie platter with an extra side of stuffed grape leaves, a gyro platter with an extra pita bread, and a cheesesteak with fries. The grape leaves were wonderful! Two of them were gone before we even left the parking lot! I couldn 't help myself, they were so good. The pita is homemade, or at least not that pita that you get at a regular grocery store. But I think it is fresh-baked; I 'd be surprised if it wasn 't. It was warm and soft and absolutely delightful! The zaalouk was delicious, and I loved the hummus, too. My husband sampled my food and he surprised himself by how much he liked it--especially one of the sauces that came with my platter. EVERYTHING was fresh and delicious. And the proprietor was very welcoming and offered great customer service. They really took care to ensure we got value for our dining patronage. My husband liked his cheesesteak and fries, btw. Next time we go there, he said he will look forward to trying something different. I am looking forward to returning, too. Always going to get grape leaves!, but I 'm looking forward to trying their other offerings, like the kebabs and other items. The restaurant is clean and the decor is simple yet comfortable. I would feel perfectly fine going there to dine-in with my husband or friends.

We couldn't take photos of our food because we scarfed it down that quickly it was so good! We ordered a falafel sandwich and a veggie platter with brown rice. Get. The. Rice. To have so many vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options was such a treat. Have I mentioned how delicious the food was? And the guys working were super friendly and very funny as well it was dinner and a show. Highly, highly recommend and will definitely be back when we're in town.

I got the green platter, which was delicious and was enough for 2 people. I called ahead to ask about the babaganoush, which I was told is indeed vegan.

I really enjoy this place. The food is fantastic and the staff is exceptional.
