All the plates of food coming out of the kitchen looked appealing and delicious! I had the Baked Cajun Wings. Lots of flavor! Not your ordinary wings !
Best dining experience. Food, service, and ambiance were perfect for a lovely evening with my wife and adult daughter. We were seated next to a brick fireplace in a cozy and warm environment surrounded by dark paneled walls. Tables were distant enough and the noise level low enough so as to allow for a private dining experience. How enjoyable it is to not have to shout to be heard over the din of other patrons and loud music. Good quality casual dress is certainly okay. Want to step it up a little, such as you might for a night of romance? You won't feel out of place. Leave the kiddies with the baby sitter (no kids menu, hint, hint) and treat you and the ones you care about right. John, our server, was simply marvelous and provided terrific recommendations and service. We selected their specialty appetizer, fried green tomatoes, and for our mains, the Drunken Pork Tenderloin and their Southern Fried Chicken. For desert, their New Orleans Style Beignets (think sopapillas) and crème brulee. I forget the name of the coffee served but it was also very good and freshly brewed. As their name implies, a full bar is available for those desiring alcohol. There looks to be something on the menu for everyone but my family and I have no dietary restrictions so we don't pay attention to dishes for special needs. An owner and chef, Rusty Hamlin, even came out and welcomed us on our first visit to his restaurant. Such a delightful experience. If I lived closer, I would most certainly visit Atkins Park Restaurant regularly. You might need to drive around a bit to locate parking. The business is located within a residential area with other small businesses and shops. But, be patient, you'll find one and be rewarded with a most pleasing dining experience.
WOW!1 Our server Jade went out of her way to help and consult, excellent! One of the owners, Kevin came and introduced himself and when finding out we were first timers brought us a appetizer on the House. Also Kevin kept checking on us to make sure all was right. In this world this was amazing and very muck appreciated. Great atmosphere, good parking and now the important part Food. Food was excellent, and original, a little bit of New Orleans. Will differently go back and recommend you try this excellent restaurant.
Friendly staff and patrons, great atmosphere and good food. We came here on a Sunday morning for brunch. The shrimp and grits are fantastic order them! The honey butter is delicious. The tavern brunch is fair, but nothing special everything (bacon, eggs, grits) was cooked well however. My only disappointment was in the biscuits. I recommend it and will be back!
