Feedback gevenThis restaurant is truly worthy of 5 stars, but my experience today was less than in the past. I was in this restaurant three times, today the third. The last two times were spectacular, especially how food and waiters/witresses go. This third time the food was just as good, the waiting time was better than before, but our waitress was definitely new. I had a quite basic meal of angel hair (with Parmesan cheese), and meat sauce. The appetizers we got were roasted cucumbers and cheese logs (these are essentially only larger mozzarella cheese sticks). You also get salad and butter bread rolls (with the purchase of a duck). The food was excellent, but the size of each duck is very, very large. I recommend ordering a child-sized portion, unless you want to feel completely filled after meal (speak from experience). The waiting times are the last point where I will feel, as the dinner can vary waiting times from 20 minutes to one hour (at least from my experience). Apart from that, it is an amazing restaurant that is definitely worth waiting.
We love coming to Provino. The food is good, music is quiet and atmosphere is great. Recently, when we left, we sat on a window that was a little smart, so I was cold, but otherwise no complaints.
Service was moderate. Forever to take our order, ten minutes for just one spoon. Order ciopinno. Pretty good. Snapper was stabbed right in the broth. Too much pasta in the bowl. They disappeared from the shells and shells. Shrimp was okay. Garlic rolls were terrible. So much garlic proved that they were not edible. Salad and dressing was lovely. Order shrimp and scallops in an Alfredo-type sauce. Overwhelming with pasta. Probably one serving for four, half a pound. Shrimp, scallops and sauce were good. House does not know so well in recital 28 dollars for four small glasses and it had a sweetness for it. Another negative we sat next to a loud station where dirty dishes and other things are collected. Does not compare with our food in Italy. Amercanized.
It's been years since I was in Provinos and it's still an amazing place to eat. We went twice a week! Garlic rolls are so amazing that you want to eat your body weight from them before the food comes. The foods and flavors are amazing, and the portions are large and likely you will take food home.
This place has some nice interior! Little history so to speak. It make for a comfortable atmosphere with good service. The garlic rolls I love! I had the seafood trio which you can't go wrong with. The Chicken Alfredo left a bit to be desired. The veal marsala was nice and tender but the sausage stuffed mushrooms were not at all what I expected them to be. Overall it was a good experience.
