Feedback gevenWhat an awesome experience! We were with a small group traveling, and an olive tasting was on the agenda. I was definitely intrigued. We had a young lady who was extremely knowledgable about olives and the making of high quality olive oil. We started in the olive grove where she explained the two types of olives that grow in this region. One is exclusive to this region. These olives are grown to produce olive oil, not necessarily to eat. We then got to see how the olives are pulverized, filtered, and bottled. This small company processes not just their own olives, but also clients in the area. They make a variety of olive oils as well. We then sat down to a tasting, but first she instructed us in how the professionals taste the oil. We had 5 different olive oils to taste. It really was so much fun and so interesting. After our tasting we were served a light lunch. Such a delightful experience. They have a small shop where you can purchase olive oil and other gift items.
This is our third trip to Lake Garda and every time we come, we make sure to visit Frantoio Manestrini at least once to stock up on olive oil and to have a light lunch amongst the olive trees. The first time we were here, the lady serving us was super attentive. We got to taste olive oils at our lunch table without having to ask for it, and our waitress explained the types of different olive oils they produced. That was our best experience at Frantoio yet. While still friendly, our last few visits lacked a bit of the personal attentiveness. However, the quality of the oils and the relaxing setting will have us return in the future as well. Parking can be a bit tight (especially considering the seating available at the bistro) but we have managed to squeeze in somewhere every time this far.
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and tasting of olive oils. Learned a lot about it that I never knew. Worth the effort to get here. Not easy without a car, but glad we went.
Posto molto bello, immerso negli ulivi sotto il sole del lago di garda, organizzare visite guidate con degotazione ma solo su prenotazione. Ci siamo fermati a pranzo, piatti freddi veloci che ho trovato troppo costoso. Attenzione al vino, nel loro negozio ha esposto un prezzo che raddoppia non appena la bottiglia arriva sul tavolo, e non parlo di vetro singolo ma bottiglia piena. Buon olio e patate. Sicuramente per migliorare, il potenziale è lì!
Superb explanation of process and great snacks and 2 glasses of wine in the Aperatif ticket. Great variety of product in shop.
