Feedback gevenRated by Michelin for a reason. Food is basic Corsican but very good and definitely home made. Very friendly staff and very good wine!
You enter the restaurant through a lovel old rustic Corsican house with farm implements hanging from the walls and interesting old photos. It is cooler in there than outside in the garden where customers are served in the summer. We ate lunch there one day and had dinner there last night. The food is delicious but much too plentiful. Unless you have a huge appetite (and stomach to match!), you will find a starter quite sufficient. For a light lunch I chose a 'dessert' of Corsican cheese with salad, tomatoes, grapes and half a fresh fig, which was quite plentiful enough. My husband had the Assiette du Berger starter which was very good and copious with thinly sliced Corsican charcuterie as well as salad, tomatoes and melon. The 'patrons' have been running the restaurant for 50 years and still greet you with a charming smile. They also employ plenty of staff to cater for the large number of customers so the service is good.
This family owned and run restaurant is one of a kind with well-mastered Corsican cuisine. A must experience !!
This is a find. We went back twice within a week of finding it. A huge range of choice from the evening buffet from simple local salads and meats, to more sophisticated dishes. Not cheap but good value too - from memory 25 euros I think for the buffet and 35 for the three course meal which included the buffet as a starter! We also loved the typical fish soup which came with all the trimmings - croutons, aioli, etc. Dining in the garden is lovely. Very short list of good, and good value local wines. The interior antique decor is one of the kind as is the owner, who loves to have a chat and joke - seemingly with every customer. You have been warned!
Amazing decoration of the restaurant - worth to take some time to see what they've exhibited on the walls and ceiling. We've ordered two menues - 35€ each - one with Corsican soup and another with shepherd plate for appetizer. The soup had strong taste (full of meat and vegetables), for the shepherd plate you can choose between at least 20 different dishes in the self-service buffet. For the main dish we've ordered lamb cooked in the wine (perfect, tender,...) and pork chops (grilled, tender, but nothing special). Deserts: home made cake with roasted almonds and fig liqueur sauce (delicious), coffee ice cream. We've ordered additional pasta for our young boy, a bottle of wine... they've charged us 93€. Worth to try their food and see the restaurant.
