Cheeky Dog - SOLDIERS POINT

Despite having made a reservation and receiving email confirmation, the restaurant's computer system did not have our booking. Thankfully, there was a table available. The food was excellent, but we had to wait an hour because the kitchen was overwhelmed with orders. The restaurant has a lot of potential, but the acoustics were terrible. Unfortunately, the male performer did not help the situation; I’m sorry to say he was quite poor. At first, we thought it was karaoke night, but then we realized he was a paid singer! The sound was sharp and loud, making it very difficult to have a conversation at our table without shouting. Once the food finally arrived, we were eager to eat and leave, as the noise was so stressful that it detracted from our enjoyment of the meal.

We ordered the turkey and the cheeseburger, and I really wish we had taken pictures because we ended up paying $44 for two meals that were essentially from the children's menu. The presentation was extremely poor, the portion sizes were small, and the quality was disappointing. I’m not sure if they were short-staffed, but the staff seemed to take breaks while several tables were left in chaos. I understand that breaks are necessary, but it might have been better to clear dirty glasses and plates from the tables before sitting down for their break. Just a thought. Unfortunately, we will probably not return, as the quality did not justify the prices. They get two stars for allowing us to bring our dogs, but we had expected much more from this place, especially since it’s associated with Bannisters. Overall, we were left feeling disappointed and underwhelmed.

Beautiful place for a drink and a bite to eat in the beer garden. dog-friendly. the cocktails were not good enough consistent and taste was only average. Eating is expensive for what it is.
