The spinach dumpling, completely tasty 'Fettbomb' swim in melted butter. Also the price was high. I would avoid this place next time.
Great ski chalet in fantastic location. The service we received was very good, there is also self service available. The food is delicious and the amount you receive is more than enough to recharge your batteries.
Visit here at least once every ski season since 2010, in which time and until today it has been called Restaurant Marchental. I think they serve the best Goulash soup on the mountains from Elmau to Westdorf. In the main it is... a self-service restaurant with a nice, for a joke men often on the checkout. But on our December 2015 visit we were treated from a table before we had the opportunity to go to self-service, with menus on the tables (one-off or something new that I don't know and perhaps because of the time of the day at 2.30 a.m., but an unexpected pleasant improvement). A simple, very short ride to the nearby heated chair lift and covered chair lift up to the Scheffau Gondel, if you enjoy too much for another in-day piste activity of your own! Try to call here once in May/June (2011) time and found it closed, so a ski season can only be restaurant!
This restaurant is right up on the top of Scheffau and only accessible via the ski lifts. You can get the gondola from Scheffau and ski down a blue run, or walk!! We ate here 4 days in a row during half term. It gets...very busy but the self service queue is managed very well meaning that your food is still hot when you sit to eat. Over the week, our group sampled the currywurst, pancake soup, goulash soup, cheese pattie burger and fries, Tirolean special dishes along with a few other bits! All very nice and reasonable prices. The goulash soup was like a stew, huge bowl served with bread and just under 7 Euros... Would definitely recommend this for a lunch stop whilst skiing but would also recommend that you arrive a little before midday or after 1.30pm as it got very busy during half term week. Probably not so bad out of school holidays! Enjoy!
