Stopped by the Village Brewing Co. in Somerville hoping for at most a beer/burger and change of scenery but what I got was so much more! Was fortunate to get Larissa P. As our server who was absolutely wonderful! Despite being a busy night with a local car show going on she came to the table outside and was super polite greeting us and just really pleasant to work with. Food was excellent and prompt and drinks cam out spot on! So happy we found this place again and fortunate yo have Larissa P. looking forward to returning sometime soon!
My personal experience today. We walked in and there were two servers in front of the sign “Please See Host to be seated” The two servers did not even looked at us or greeted us. They just walked away. About 4 minutes of waiting by the sign and no one came. Servers just keeps walking around not acknowledging our presence. I finally ran out of patience and chased a server to seat us. We got seated and waited another 10 minutes to be served. We were ready to walk out the place. We ordered our food. Just a burger and beer. Upon checking out we can’t find our server. Asked the bus lady if she could please get our server and she just looked at us and left. Waited another 5 minutes and I finally walked up to the guy in the cashier that we are ready to leave and couldn’t find our server. At last she came. Paid and left. I think this establishment is over priced which I don’t mind paying BUT they need to up their service. Based on my experience today I do not recommend this brewery. For someone visiting NJ there’s other establishments that’s much better. TY
Food and beers ? were great. Service good be better. Ordered pretzel bites for an appetizer and they never came ? a bit expensive though. Two dinners 2 beers and one cocktail.$80 without tip. I will be back though. Not weekly though.
Went in with my girlfriend and everything was great! Our server (I think her name was Clarissa) was absolutely wonderful. She had great recommendations on food, which did not disappoint! She recommended the cauliflower bites, which were awesome. Definitely coming coming back soon!
Food was great! This review is for my first experience which was this past Sunday so the bar and restaurant was slow, not a lot of people. I can’t really blame them for it looking slow on a Sunday but I imagine the atmosphere is a lot better when there is more people. The style of the bar and dining room is very nice though.Between 4 people we shared 2 appetizers the Village Nachos w/chicken and the Spinach and Artichoke Dip. The bites of chicken for the nachos was cooked perfectly and overall the nachos were very good (sorry for the blurry photo). I couldn’t stop picking on the Spinach and Artichoke Dip either. For my main, I normally don’t go for alternative proteins or vegetarian or vegan meals but was looking for a lighter option that wasn’t a salad and opted for the Black Bean Burger. I may not be able to give a fair review as I don’t eat black bean burgers often, but I can tell that this was definitely a consciously made black bean burger. Structurally, it mostly held up but bits would occasionally fall off while eating. Not something I took much issue with at all, as I assume there was no egg or breadcrumbs used, possibly keeping it vegan and/or gluten free. I couldn’t tell you exactly how it was made into a patty. The taste however I thought was very good, for me it tasted mostly of cumin. I chose the house “village simple” salad as a side, which I was actually extremely surprised by as the dressing was outstanding for a simple salad in my opinion.I had their Witbier/Wheat Beer Nit Wit along with my meal which I enjoyed as well.Overall experience was positive. I was surprised that the service seemed a bit slow for how seemingly slow it appeared. I don’t think it interfered that much with my overall experience though, our server was very nice.Vegetarian options: Black Bean Burger was great!
