El Coronel - Somiedo

If I could I would give this restaurant slightly above average but that is not an option on here! It has the big advantage of being the only restaurant for miles but it was still nearly empty when we dined here one snowy day in February. I think rustic is the best way to describe this place. Very friendly staff , very Spanish decor, My partner had a cosido of potatoes and ribs for starter it was a typical Spanish stew with fatty ribs and watery potatoes and not at all to his tastes. I don't eat meat so had the Go to option of ensalada mixta for starter which was the usual massive plate of iceberg lettuce, tomato, onion, sweetcorn etc. Mains were better pork steak and chips and fried fish ? hake) and chips both pretty good. Special mention to the red wine which was pretty rough and needed a good shot of gaseosa to make it drinkable and to the dessert simply the best desserts ever and homemade . Mine was tarta de turron and it was a big, creamy slab of heaven). coffee was good, price was very low. All in all, pretty acceptable out of the way rustic place on the remote road between Asturias and Leon. You wouldn't go out of your way to dine here but if you are passing and feeling hungry it is fine.

Tuvimos una cena maravillosa esa noche. En un lugar acogedor y modesto. La relación calidad-precio es excelente. Recuerdo con cariño esa cena. El personal es muy amable y cercano. ¡Gracias!

Cantidad, calidad, precio excelente. Un sitio estupendo. Menú del día 13euros, con variedad y mucha cantidad. Sin duda un sitio al que volveré

Zona restaurante, trato excelente, precio muy asequible, acogedor y ubicación ideal.

Se come genial, sitio tranquilo y familiar, muy rico y muy buena atención para repetir sin duda!
