La Vieille Auberge - Souillac

Welcome to a charming hotel restaurant. The staff was right and friendly. Restaurant itself was comfortable, but not especially in decoration or cosiness. The food is absolutely good and lovely, but classic. Duo by foie gras de canard, partly in Cahors wine, very beautiful! Lamb, Tournedos Rossini, cheese from the region, a 'honest' kitchen. Wines in every budget. This restaurant fits exactly into the hotel formula and its guests. Good decent food and service for a reasonable price.

Warm reception and good service throughout. Lives with a good atmosphere on Tuesday evening in August. Several set menus and a long a la carte to choose from. The food was well presented and each dish was well received by our group, including the fish of the day (code), fillet steak and slowly boiled lamb. Long wine list with several at a very reasonable price. Overall a “up market” restaurant compared to others in the area, but worth the slightly higher prices. Over €50 per head for 3 courses and wine.

This restaurant is located on the main streets of Souillac and is a hidden gem in the area.

Traveling in the next season (early november) we decided to have la Vielle auberge as we are fans of hotels in the Logis chain. friendly welcome to our arrival and we were soon given the keys to our rooms without fuss. a little drama for...I was on the return to my room after a pre-dinner drink in the city, just to find out that the key would not work! it seems that the door lock was broken, but the hotel called a local handyman and I was back in the room without too much delay. Bedrooms were very comfortable with powerful showers (and bath in my original room was great) eating and service in the restaurant was amazing, extremely friendly staff and good menu and wine list. we both had the venison that was superb. the breakfast in the morning was also of good quality and quantity. bill came to €170 euro, which for dinner, bead and 3 curs meal with weep, aperitifs and brands, is quite good value for money in my book. very recommended and will return.
