The sign advertised under new management, but the experience was not up to par. We felt bad for the waitress. The food we did end up ordering was not that impressive. On the bright side, the bar area seemed to have improved with a fresh coat of paint.
We stopped at this restaurant with our two dogs and were seated in the back area of the pub. The atmosphere was lacking, with dingy surroundings, tables only covered with white cloths, and a pot of worn silverware with no condiments in sight. Despite being the only customers at the time, it took over half an hour for our food to arrive. When we inquired about our order, it finally came out 10 minutes later missing some items. The tuna salad was lackluster, missing green beans, olives, and capers. My burger was unappetizing and minimal, lacking bacon and cheese. Overall, it was a terrible experience and I would not recommend this place to anyone. The atmosphere was unwelcoming and the service was lacking.
I went to this restaurant for Easter Sunday lunch. I wasn't sure what to expect since it had been a while since my last visit, but I was pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff was polite and friendly. Despite being under new ownership and undergoing refurbishment, the restaurant was clean and tidy, with nicely laid out tables and plenty of seating. The atmosphere was nice as well. I highly recommend paying a visit.
Dropped in here for a lunchtime sandwich. Ordered the tuna mayo which included some chips. Given the price I was expecting more than 2 slices of your standard sliced brown loaf filled with tuna plus a few chips and a little bit of salad. The food tasted fine but I was left with an underwhelmed feeling. My friends ordered main dishes and I wished I'd done the same.
Went to lunch on Friday lunchtime at the hardwicke arms while walking around the wimpole estate with my partner. Suberb! Although the bar seemed quiet we received very personal service. I had the Hamm, egg and chips which were some of the best chips I have tasted. My partner had a salmon and crayfish baked potato which was quite unusual. Both meals were decent size portion s and were delicious. The bar also has a gin the which had some unusual flavours Pity I was driving.... would certainly return if in the area again
