Sails Restaurant - SOUTH CARNARVON

We have found the staff very helpful, friendly and obliging. Including breakfast staff. Our waitress Tracy for dinner was delightful! The food was delicious and we were in and out in no time at all which was just what we needed after a busy day. The seafood chowder was sensational. Thank you.

What a mix room was rather tired with breakfast knot at one side. Staff were efficient. Food was actually good with a good piece of local fish and a nice salad although a little too much Caesar dressing. Beef also good. Good value. But it is like rest of town rather rustic

After being seated in the breakfast buffet area on a table for 4 as a couple, it took 15 minutes to take orders, the time delay between entrees and mains was in excess of 1 hour, the size of the mains were for children, not adults, the volume of produce in the seafood chowder was very poor with only 1 muscle and three prawns. Not provided with a second dish for the shells. Then we order desert and was presented with three very over cooked profiteroles that were un-edible.

Great service but disappointed in the food. My chowder was spoilt by so many star anise in the bowl which gave it an unpleasant taste. I did mention to the waitress but she just said she was sorry and was surprised at the number of star anise in the bowl! The 2 other people dining where underwhelmed by there food.

The best seafood chowder I have ever had. If you come this far you have to call in and try it. Compliments to the chef
