I had a wonderful experience at this delightful little restaurant in El Monte. The warmth and hospitality were truly inviting. The place is quite cozy, so you often find yourself sharing a table with strangers, which makes for some fascinating conversations. The three women working there interacted in a way that reminded me of my aunts and their cousins from years ago—there was so much love and joy in everything they did. While it may not be the finest restaurant I've ever visited, it certainly warmed my heart, lifted my spirits, and left me feeling satisfied. I ordered the flautas with potatoes (deep-fried flour tortillas stuffed with mashed potatoes), and they were deliciously garnished. Everyone else seemed to be enjoying the steak picado, which has piqued my curiosity to return and give it a try myself. I definitely intend to revisit!

Awful catering for events. They clearly aren't equipped to handle parties. Their grill is tiny, and instead of genuine quesadillas, they serve overcooked cheese tacos. It's definitely not suitable for children's parties. Additionally, they promote flautas, but what they actually serve are taquitos.

Viva Zapata serves up delicious homemade vegan gorditas and an assortment of refreshing natural drinks. The customer service is outstanding, and the prices are quite reasonable. And as for the name of the restaurant? It's Viva Zapata! I absolutely love it!
