Village Tavern Grill South Elgin

This was our first visit to this restaurant, and we decided to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary by trying somewhere new. Our waitress, Kari, was fantastic! We will definitely be returning! We ordered the fish fry, and it was excellent!

The smell of old frying oil was overpowering and completely ruined my appetite, not to mention it left my clothes smelling terrible. I definitely cannot recommend this place. They really need to invest in a new ventilation system or change their oil more frequently. What happened to the days when the aromas in restaurants were so inviting that they made your mouth water? I was tempted to just turn around and leave.

I usually don't take the time to write reviews, but my latest visit made me change my mind. Stephanie, the bartender, delivers excellent service every time I come in for lunch. She's friendly, attentive, and works efficiently. I've been encouraging all my friends to visit this place because of the outstanding service I've consistently received. Thank you!

This is one of my favorite places to visit for lunch or dinner. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. The prices are pretty reasonable as well.

Really good barfood and a fun atmosphere. The chicken fingers (suggested by the server) were very good and the sauces were flavorful. Overly generous portion sizes, left everyone at the table full and happy. Glad we tried it. Probably will hit it again the next time we are in town.
