The Garden - South Hams

We went out for a family meal and took advantage of the lunch time offer at this restaurant. The atmosphere was calming and the food was delicious, with good friendly service. The only issue was that the slate plates looked nice but were difficult to eat from. We had previously been for more casual "pub grub" with the kids, but this time it was just adults and we enjoyed the change of pace. We are looking forward to going back again.

Located near Hemerdon in the eastern side of Plympton, this pub with a restaurant underwent a major renovation following a disaster, possibly a fire or flood, about a year ago. We visited once after the refurbishment and found it to have a typical suburban pub atmosphere. The establishment is functional and utilizes its surroundings well, but the overall experience may vary depending on one's expectations. While it is not necessarily cheap or extraordinary, it is worth checking out the various reviews on the Plympton thread before making a decision.
