Rose Crown - South Holland

We rang to book an electric pitch for our tent so we could join friends that were booked on. We were told they had all sold out but we're offered a small trailer caravan instead. This seemed a good idea so booked it. On arrival we checked in at the pub which had a fusty horrible smell that put me off straight away. We were shown the caravan and on going inside I could have died. I wouldn't have put a dog in there. We had a 5yr old with us and I wanted to go home straight away. We looked for a hotel to stay in instead but they were fully booked. The caravan was filthy, the fridge didn't work, the cooker was dropping to bits and it needed a good clean. There was dirty vents covered in filth above our heads. The bed and pull out sofa looked like they needed a good clean. We decided to put our airbed up on top of the pull out sofa and stay one night as it was a long drive back to drag the little one back home. In the morning we packed up and left. I'd also booked a none electric pitch for my son and daughter in law to join us but on arrival I had rang them and warned them we would be leaving so they didn't come and that was our weekend ruined. We complained straight away and we're told by one of the staff he just books people on here we should see the manager. The manager said he has nothing to do with that side of the business so my husband said well I think you ought to. The toilets on site we're dirty aswel and no cold tap to use to brush your teeth. The pool is also not great and needs a good clean. Also it was really bad for mosquitos we got bitten to death and so did lots of people on the site everyone's legs were full of red lumps. Overall not my kind of place so if you expect cleanliness avoid this place. After we left the caravan was moved and put up for sale that says it all. On leaving we were given a £30 refund which didn't really cover our bad experience but I was just glad to leave.

Loved it.. had a brilliant time. Campsite nice. Pub was lovely. Staff were welcoming. Live band on Sat night and the swimming pool was a good addition to our weekend of camping.

Not sure what done people were expecting but WOW!!! … we loved it.. family, 3 kids 11,8 8. Absolutely fantastic break. Kids made so many friends. Spoke to many fellow campers, all very very happy. Will definitely be back looking to book again in 2weeks before x so chill holidays end. Had x2 young dogs who were a bit noisy in the pub at times with other dogs as all new to them.. No bother to anyone, Paul and staff were friendly and helpful.. local customers were friendly and welcoming not clicky. Yes, it’s not haven or a big site.. but if you want that go pay there prices, absolutely brilliant rough snd ready campsite. With pub … great pizzas and pool was a massive winner for kids. Play park is also good, zip wire etc. Gated and secure, we’re definitely happy campers… see u again soon

Went here at the weekend with a few friends and their families, the attitude of the staff from the minute we got there was horrendous! One of the managers threw a brick at one of our party as we were having a bbq, instead of just asking if we 'd like anything to put underneath the bbqs he went off on one shouting get that off my F ing grass! Have a look around while throwing bricks towards him and his children! One night we were in the pub, we put 50p in the pool table and one of the owners turned all the lights off and told us to leave the pub as he was closing, while still sat having a drink with the locals! One of our party found a used condom under their pillow, which was clearly about 6 months old, they got no apology or refund or anything, not even a simple sorry! There were people in the pool the day before with airbeds in there, my son wanted to take his airbed in and one of the owners grabbed it off of him (he is 8 yrs old) making him cry, then grabbed my drink out of my hand and screwed it up which then resulted in my son being covered in alcohol! He also tried to push my son which didn 't end well! He then asked us to leave the site. The management 's attitude stinks! The women behind the bar were really helpful and friendly, the pool and park were good for the kids but wont stay here again as a paying customer, they 're attitude is all wrong!

Great pub good prices some food issues not quality but availability supposed to be getting sorted would recommend
