Toulouse - South Lake Tahoe

Place was empty and for a good reason. Only one waiter and was out of the first 3 things that I tried to order. Crazy thing is that after you made a reservation you have to give them a credit card and if you don’t show you are charged $20 a person. You don’t even need a reservation as there was only one other table. I winded up ordering the shrimp and grits and they were very bland and no gravy or anything. The gumbo was a joke. The worst rendition of cajun food I ever had. Not one of our party enjoyed their meal. I don’t see this place staying open for very much longer. Can’t sell from an empty wagon. Cajun food is not supposed to be bland and tasteless. Save yourself some money and go anywhere else. Even the waiter wasn’t happy and looked like he had a very ruff night.

We are from Pennsylvania and weren’t sure of the area and saw this place online. Food was great got steak and my husband had a burger. Waitress was efficient.

We went with friends, the service was the most friendly service I’ve experienced in a while. For that alone I would return. We had excellent cocktails and the fried cauliflower appetizer, both were very good. Our dinners were huge burgers and very tasty.

My husband and I had the opportunity to sneak away for a date night and truly had a wonderful experience! The service team greeted us with a smile, were prompt in bringing out the food, and were all-around attentive. The food was incredibly delicious and if we come back to Lake Tahoe, we'll definitely be coming back here!
