The cakes were dry and heavy, and even the scones were dry despite being served with cream and jam. We were hoping for slices of moist Victoria sponge, but instead, we were served dry and tasteless cheesecake. There was also a cake or biscuit with a thin layer of jam, which we couldn't quite identify. The sausage rolls, mini quiches, and sausages would have been more enjoyable if they were served warm. Although the tea was good, we wished we had been offered a selection. We had high expectations as the restaurant was Michelin recommended, but sadly, we left feeling let down. Even small details like using paper napkins instead of linen ones could have elevated the experience. The staff seemed as unenthusiastic as we were. As we left, we noticed planters full of weeds and a large dead plant, highlighting that attention to detail could make a significant difference.
Ordered food didnt take long to come, food was hot and we had sliders chips onion rings and garlic bread, didn't want much ,served by the lovely keiron
We have been 5 or 6 times over the years using a Groupon coupon for afternoon tea, which makes it excellent value. Yesterday we went and it was the best ever. More savories now, which were good. Tasty cakes and fresh scones with lashings of jam and cream. Good friendly attentive service. You get a box to take home any leftovers. Would recommend.
We dined in the conservatory with a group of four, enjoying the light and airy atmosphere. The afternoon tea was fantastic, with plenty of sandwiches, including a delicious Camembert and cranberry quiche, sausage rolls, sausages, and a variety of other savory options. We also enjoyed two scones, tea bread, beautiful cakes, and jam with cream. The staff was very attentive, and the location was beautiful.
Oh my goodness! The afternoon tea is absolutely stunning and I didn't want to share it at all. The scones were fabulous, the sandwiches were adorable, and a bottle (okay, maybe two) of bubbly was the perfect way to spend the afternoon with friends.
