Lamplighter - South Lakeland

Quite simply the best haddock, (thrice cooked) chips and muddy heaps I've ever eaten. the other three members of our party were also impressed by their meals. highly recommended.

Excellent. a very stylish restaurant in a beautiful environment. from the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome by the employees. we had Lakeland beef fillet with anchovy butter and a pork. very tasty eating and excellent local ale at a reasonable price.

Excellent British cuisine in windermere. we went for Friday night. b. dover sole, colchester oyster and much more. also near the train station.

This is a family owned restaurant. There is a good menu selection, including vegetarian options and local Cumbrian produce is used. Efficient staff, prompt service and the food was good. There are private dining areas for larger groups and they prefer a pre-order if you make a booking for a large group (we were a group of 7). The hotel has a car park but this might be full. Try to find a space in the streets around the restaurant (note the one way system). There is a public car park on Broad Street.
