The Greyhound Inn - South Lakeland

The food was super nice and the staff great! We went twice whilst staying in the West Lakes. The home made pies are bursting with filling and flavour and the home made chunky chips are to die for. Portion size is very generous and the whole tail scampi is on your plate in abundance!

The service at this restaurant was absolutely fantastic, with all staff receiving a perfect 10/10 rating! Despite booking late at night in an emergency when the kitchen was closed, they were willing to wait for us to arrive and make us food. The room we stayed in was spotless and beautifully presented, making it the perfect romantic getaway. The staff were helpful and provided easy parking and a warm welcome. In the morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast and a friendly chat with one of the waitresses. We will definitely be returning on our next trip and highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

We made a reservation for dinner. The pub had a nice atmosphere with a great log fire. There was a good selection of beers to choose from. The food was standard but very tasty. I heard the pies were amazing, but I didn't get a chance to try them. The service was relaxed in terms of timing.

I recently tried the Sunday roast at this restaurant for the first time and it did not disappoint. I decided to treat my elderly mother to this meal. We started off with soda water and cordial, which was nice, cheap, and cold. We both chose the roast beef, and after a wait of around 25 minutes, our meals were served. I had six small, thick pieces of medium-well roast beef on my plate, while my mother had two large pieces. The meal also included four different types of potatoes, a big homemade Yorkshire pudding, red cabbage, French beans, cauliflower, peas, carrots, and a nice, thick gravy. The beef was perfectly cooked and it was the best Sunday lunch I have had in a long time. My mother also loved her meal. The total cost for two lunches and three pints of soda water was £23.80, which is a great price in today's economy. I highly recommend this place and we have already been back several times.

Beautiful little pub, extremely pleasant staff and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend
