The Lamplighter Dining Rooms

Went for a meal with my daughter. I don't eat lamb and there was a mix up with what I ordered. The meat was covered in sauce and as I don't know what lamb tastes like. I didn't realise that's what I had been served until the bill came. I was horrified. The manager came and said I had ordered lamb. He wouldn't accept that he had made a mistake. He was arrogant and extremely intimidating. Mistakes happen I know but how this was handled was extremely bad. Totally spoiled our night. He eventually charged me for what I had ordered but there was no apology. Service: 1 Location: 3

We went for a meal in the evening in the bar with my little Westie. The restaurant was charming, beautifully decorated the staff attentive and friendly. The food was superb and the best chips ever. Fabulous. Service: 5 Location: 5

Well located, fair rooms, good restarant, parking on site, pet friendly... has a lot of things going for it! Just note the somewhat unusual 11am check-out time and they tend to get rather snippy with you if you are even 5 seconds late, in fact, expect a knock on your door 15 seconds before the clock strikes 11 telling you to be out! -1* for that.
