The Pig - South Lakeland

Last night, after a day of hiking up Helvellyn, we visited this restaurant in need of some pub food. After reading all the great reviews, we decided to give it a try. The food quality was excellent - we started with pigs in blankets and calamari, and then had gammon steak for our main course, all cooked perfectly. The staff and owner were very friendly, and we ended up staying for more drinks than planned due to the great atmosphere in the pub. Highly recommend visiting this place - we would rate it higher than 5 stars if we could! (Feeling the effects this morning!)

We visited this restaurant for some evening drinks. Although we had already eaten elsewhere, the food looked delicious and we regretted not trying it. We sat outside and enjoyed the warmth from the heaters. The drinks were tasty and the staff was very friendly and welcoming.

The food was excellent! It was exactly what we needed after a 3-hour drive to get there. The pub food was delicious. We both ordered a pie and it was absolutely delightful! The open fire added a nice touch, and the bustling atmosphere complemented the experience.

Just been for a meal here with my partner the food was absolutely amazing the waiter we had was very friendly and chatty. Made us feel very welcome. Cocktails were awesome Will be returning.

We ordered the fish (no chips, salad instead) and the pulled pork sandwiches.. The portions were extremely generous and the food was phenomenal. Amazing service and tons of gluten free options... Highly highly recommend
