Really unbelievable. I don’t often complain so please believe me this is bad. Five dishes ordered, I could eat two of them without fearing the need of remedial dental work. Spring rolls were flat and rock hard, like trying to eat a domino. Satay chicken was so tough I couldn’t even bite through it so cut a bit off and chewed it for so long my jaw started to hurt, potato samosas the same. However, chicken chow mein was edible as were sweet and sour chicken balls., 2 out of 5 not bad I suppose! I called to complain, only to be shouted at by a lady offering a free dish next time I ordered and saying all restaurants are different. Next time! Must be joking. All restaurants are different, ranging from very good to very bad, draw your own conclusions on where this one is!
If over cooked meats drenched in gelatin based sauces whilst made to feel unwelcome is your thing, then you’re in for a treat. Impolite and frantic behaviour, topped off with being given incorrect order without apology. I was given someone else’s order despite me being shouted at for the order number at their door step. Everyone is literally shoved food at them via the door with a feeling of being ‘shooed’ away. Understand covid but at least let one in a time. On returning the food, was told they are very busy, other gentleman had been waiting for over an hour (it was his food I was given). Finally got my order, looked correct but on returning home second time round, found I received prawns instead of chicken. Hmph. As with other reviewers, I find they show their expertise in using gelatin and poor quality ingredients. Customer services not a thing here.
Very delicious take away food, much better than Ganges. Very polite and happy, very nice food, will come again.
2 years ago we tried this place and concluded never again …… tonight, because we couldn’t get through to the other Chinese Takeaway in town we gave the Happy Garden another try. Waste of time and money. Food was a bland, tasteless congealed letdown. The sesame prawn roasts were fried within an inch of their life (yesterday most probably)! Worst meal we have had, the lot went in the bin. Avoid!
