Señor Donkey - South Padre Island

This restaurant is highly disappointing. The food takes an extremely long time to arrive, and when it finally does, it's below average considering the high prices. I urge you to heed this review and the overall low ratings—it's best to find somewhere else to eat. I've worked in the service industry and usually consider myself quite patient, but this experience will truly test your endurance. I strongly recommend skipping this place altogether. Perhaps the owners and management should take note of the numerous low ratings and make some necessary changes. Sadly, they seem to have a steady stream of customers despite the poor quality. Instead, consider opting for McDonald's, where you'll have a much better experience.

I ordered the whole snapper, which looked appealing when it was presented to me before cooking. Unfortunately, it was overcooked to the point of being inedible. Additionally, the decor of the restaurant isn't very family-friendly. I would rate it 2 stars, but it might deserve only 1. On a positive note, our server was excellent, and the calamari appetizer was quite good.

I ordered the fajitas, and they were delicious! The service was quick. There was live music, which I really enjoyed, but it was a bit loud.

I would certainly return! The New Mexican plate was outstanding. The house salsa was served warm and was delightful. The tres leches cake was excellent as well.

The best Mexican restaurant on the island! The new general manager is outstanding and incredibly friendly.
