However, we were able to sit inside even though there were empty tables outside. We were disappointed with the limited menu choices. We both ordered the bacon sandwich which was supposed to come on a white bun; we would have preferred a brown bun but couldn't have everything. We waited for a while before a server came to take our order. We were considering leaving but decided to stay since we were hungry. When we placed our order, we both chose brown sauce for our sandwiches. The sauce was already added to the sandwiches when they arrived, which was surprising as we prefer to add our own. Our coffees and food were just average. Other dishes that were brought out looked more interesting, but we wondered if they were worth the price. The service was slow and not very friendly, and combined with the disappointing food, we decided not to return as there are many other great restaurants in the area.
I went to this restaurant for breakfast with a friend and it exceeded my expectations, despite knowing that Cow Shed has a big reputation. The high quality of the ingredients was evident and everything was cooked perfectly. I would suggest making a reservation to avoid being turned away as it is a small cafe and tends to get busy. I will definitely return and highly recommend it.
I recently revisited The Cow Shed and was unable to try their special 3 cheese toast, but I heard it was delicious. Just like all the dishes that come out of their kitchen! It is part of their autumn specialties, so make sure to try it while you can, especially if you are a cheese lover. (Apologies for the picture quality, but it is the dish on the left side.)
Delicious as still and even better, now they serve alcohol! finally decided to try other options on the menu instead of the usual B.A.E on toast. I tried to expand my horizons, I took the chorizo and pepper nervously. I had nothing to be nervous. it was extremely delicious: chorizo, pfeffer, ei, speck, avocado and pesto on toast. who would have thought that this would make a winning combination?! not me, but I am a convert. and now they can have a prosecco with brunch, there is no excuse not to support local!
The cow shed is so good it’s out of hand, I would say it’s better than rise imo. The dishes are so well put together and the cakes are silly good homemade by the owner!!! Amazing
