Forty west is a lovely relaxing cafe, you can relax while the kids are entertained, can be very busy but staff are alway friendly and work hard to minimise wait time. Food and coffe great. Take a trip out to providence you would be sorry.
I have eaten here several times. The all day breakfast is great, I am especially fond of the avo smash and poached eggs. The pizza is consistently good. They often have a daily special on the board, today it was a burger with avo, rocket, halloumi, bacon, egg and a tomato relish with a side of hash browns. It was very good. Outside there are heaters for those cooler days and mist fans for those warmer days. There are also large screen tvs.
The location is perfect - this cute little licensed cafe is perched on a gentle hill overlooking the children's play area , splash park and local bushland. The cafe is well set up, with indoor and outdoor seating, communal outdoor couch areas with big screen tvs to catch the game and a small side bar area. The food is quite good - a small fridge case displays some nice home style cakes and slices and plenty of cold Turkish rolls, quiches etc ready for heating. The small open kitchen let's you watch the chefs work and if it's quiet, even have a quick chat. They serve your standard options- pizzas, burgers, salads, etc. food is probably 4/5 and priced fairly reasonably. The coffee is not brilliant but quite good, and there is the usual array of hot and cold drinks as well as an alcoholic selection with a few beers on tap.Overall a nice little addition to the area perfect to accompany a family play at the splash park, or a local catch up with friends.
We went to the Splash and Play parkland at Ripley quite randomly today and it turned out to be a wonderful suprise. The cafe is open 7-4 seven days a week.Coffee-good. Food-good. Beer on tap and a selection of wine's -good. Kids menu standard but good.I saw a lot of food coming out of the very open and efficient kitchen including some of the all day breakfasts and the pizza's and tbey all looked hearty and wonderful. My Mr had the beer battered barramundi which was in a light beer batter, not that heavy gross stuff that barely has any fish in it. The portion was generous and was very hearty.Junior had chicken nuggets and chips. Stock standard fare, but after playing in the playground was inhaled and enjoyed.I had the roast beetroot, persian fetta and walnut salad with an addition of grilled chicked and thoroughly enjoyed it.They had Stone and Wood Pacific Ale, Carlton Draught, XXXX gold on tap.Lunch with drinks for the 3 of us was $52. Good value for good quality for this newish establishment. A real hidden gem and we will be back no doubt. You can eat here but a few people were just having a few afternoon drinks against the stunning sunset in the background.
