Went to a Christmas party there. Bar staff slow, inexperienced. When buffet dinner was served ran out of fork knives and plates in the process of serving.Asked for **** mary sorry no tomato juice, same no coffee for baileys.
This bar became our local while living on 8th street, it is nice and welcoming and the food ain't bad. Also a lot of screens to watch sport. Service is quite good and staff are friendly. The decor is quite dated but dont let that stop you.
A good selection of beer. The food is often sub-par and the service is lacking. A favorite stop of students.
This pub in now called THE THIRSTY SCHOLAR.Our group of about 80+ rented the upstairs party room ($200 -- reasonable). The food was good but the drinks were on the expensive side considering it was self serve.Other than that it was a good evening considering the mood could have been poopy given most of us have no job since we locked the doors on the Target store. The two servers that hiked the food to the tables did a pretty good job of keeping up.If I had to do it again for a group this size this would be the place to come. There is lots of parking which is a bonus too. My only major complaint is that we ordered the large Nachos which was large but chef forgot to put enough cheese on it and under the first layer of nachos ther was no cheese Must have thought it was the small nacho dish.I should have sent it back but not knowing what would happen when it went back into the kitchen opted out. Wouldn't order this again.
