Carl's Carvery - South Shields

I had a lovely experience at the carvery, as the food was delicious and enjoyable. However, I’m giving it 4 stars because, as a first-time customer last Sunday, I encountered some confusion. I found myself waiting in a long line just to order food and drinks, without any guidance on what to do since no one was assisting. After finally being served, I stood in another long line to get a ticket at the bar, and then waited again to have my ticket processed in the dining room. To make matters worse, there were no outdoor seats available, and it was raining. Overall, it took me 45 minutes before I finally received my meal. I think it would really benefit the restaurant to have staff available to explain the process to new customers and inform them about seating availability.

The second time I visited and it was absolutely delicious. yorkshire puddings are perfect and generous portions of meat (there were 4 choices and mint and dumplings to choose from). it was very busy and I expected to wait, but it warns that long and in my eyes, that is a sign of somewhere that sells good food when it is so busy. all staff are very friendly and homemade puddings are also amazing. highly recommended and will definitely be back xx

I had a lovely meal today, featuring some delicious bark and slow-roasted gammon for dinner. Both dishes were incredibly tender and melted in my mouth. Everything on the hot plates was cooked to perfection. The staff were fantastic, especially with my two noisy toddlers and my energetic three-year-old. I absolutely loved it once again!

I had a fantastic and delicious meal! I would definitely recommend that everyone try this place. The staff were great, and the chefs did an amazing job with the food. Those who know me are aware that I can be quite particular about my dining experiences, especially when it comes to the presentation and quality of the dishes. This restaurant exceeded my expectations, and I will certainly be recommending it to others. It’s a solid 10/10, and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit!

Came here today with my dad and daughter and would highly recommend coming here food is amazing and staff are so friendly and helpful!!
