After being unhappy with the portion size in our previous review, we decided to order the same meal again, this time using a discount from an online food delivery platform. Surprisingly, the cost had not increased in over 18 months, which is uncommon as most prices tend to go up. Therefore, based on the price and the flavor, we have given it a 4-star rating this time.
1st visit to Spice Delight food was class a taste of proper curry hats off to you all will definitely be back 5 star service
I decided to try something new, and ended up at Spice Delight located at the far end of Gilbert Street, just off the main Western Approach Road. The menu offers all the popular dishes as well as some unique specials. The prices are very affordable, but the portions are on the smaller side. The rice dishes come in large containers and are quite filling. However, the main dishes could benefit from larger portions, even if it means a slight increase in price. My wife ordered the Sylhet Mixed Special for a bargain price of £6, which was a decent portion size. I opted for the Chicken Staff Curry, expecting bone-in chicken with vegetables in a hot Madras sauce. Unfortunately, I struggled to find the three small pieces of chicken in the mild curry, though it was still tasty. I would have preferred more chicken pieces for a slightly higher price. Overall, Spice Delight offers good, flavorful food at very reasonable prices.
Delivery was late, the rice container wasn’t full as we normally get from other takeaways as a standard. The chip carton however had been crammed in so came out all broken and a bit mushed up. Overall just didn’t seem to be as much as we get elsewhere (from leftovers point of view). Prices keen though and the food tasted great.
Chi/curry, egg/F/R and other things, through the monate, absolutelyley delish. thanks. herr salahuddin.
