Caffe Nero - South Somerset

I always go to Cafe Nero in Yeovil because the staff here are excellent in every possible way. I have reviewed them several times before, but my old account was hacked.

On Wednesday 11th January, my companions and I visited Cafe Nero's branch located along the High Street in Yeovil. Originally planning to go to Costa, we found that they were only offering take away sales due to the weather not being ideal for outdoor seating. We managed to find an empty table by the window, which we had to clean before sitting down. After settling at our table, we went to the counter to order some food and coffees. We ordered 2 flat white coffees, a BLT, and an egg mayonnaise sandwich, which came to just under £13. The egg sandwich lacked seasoning, while the BLT was decent. The coffees were tasty and well-prepared. The window ledge and floor were in need of a good clean, indicating a lack of maintenance. The furniture appeared worn out and in need of refurbishment, giving the place a slightly rundown feel. The state of the restroom further contributed to the overall shabbiness of the establishment.

Every so often, I'll order from here and have it delivered to my house. I do it to treat my siblings and mother, and every time it's always their favourite day of the month. The food is always deliciously made, just the right temperature too. It's always reliable, they never mess up my orders. The Chai Tea Latte here is truly one of the best. I love how secure they pack everything too, nothing is ever spilled, food or drink. The care in the packaging too. It's incredible and honestly it's worth the money. Love buying breakfast on those special days.

The service at this restaurant branch is a complete disgrace. When we arrived today, we noticed that the table had not been cleaned. I asked two male staff members to wipe it for us, one of whom gave me a dirty look while the other begrudgingly grabbed a cloth and spray. As they whispered to each other, I ordered a frappe from the window display and had to specify that I wanted the pistachio flavor. Despite my request for a skinny cappuccino, the staff member continued to prepare a different drink and asked about adding cream. Frustrated with his attitude and lack of attention, I decided to leave without receiving my order. I would have rated this venue with no stars if possible, as the young man clearly needs to work on his manners and customer service skills. We ended up going to Costa across the street, where despite having to ask for the table to be cleaned, the staff member did so with a smile and even went the extra mile to inform me that they had mopped the floor.
