The Royal Oak - South Somerset

We visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch, and it was excellent. The prices were reasonable, and the staff was incredibly friendly. There was a nice selection of options on the Sunday menu. We would definitely return!

I can't find anything to criticize. This charming little village pub offers a fantastic selection of drinks at reasonable prices, along with food that's absolutely delicious. The starters are straightforward, but the prawns and whitebait were outstanding. The main courses are truly the highlight. The regular menu looks impressive, but my fiancé and I both opted for the specials, and they did not disappoint. I enjoyed a delectable pork belly served with creamy mash and tender stem broccoli, while the lamb was incredibly tender. Overall, an excellent dining experience!

I had a wonderful Sunday lunch here on Mothering Sunday! The home-cooked food was fantastic, with all the classic favorites available. There's nothing pre-cooked about this place! I'm so grateful that genuine, authentic spots like this still exist. The staff were fabulous, and I especially loved Martha! The value was exceptional—three courses for my son and me cost only £60, including drinks. This is a stark contrast to the pub in my village, Mudford, which has an extensive menu but serves pre-cooked food at double the price and it's hardly edible! Please support this family-run business that has been around for as long as I can remember. Thank you for another delightful lunch!

Beautiful Sunday lunch and desserts, lovely staff, can’t fault this lovely little gem!second visit, second visit today for Mother’s Day and we couldn’t be happier with the food and service!

Worth the time finding this place, went with friends for a seafood night, each course was delicious, well presented and cooked to perfection, oyster. Crab, mackerel, monkfish, black bream cooked different ways but all so tasty. It really was a great night with friends, the fires were lit making the place very cosy and the staff delivered first class service. I just wish this was my local.
