Thirty Five - South Somerset

We were looking forward to returning for a birthday meal after a great 1st visit a few years ago but were really disappointed this time around. Booked and ordered in advance for a 6pm booking and it wasn't at all busy when we were there but the service was poor. We felt rushed like they couldn't wait for us to leave. Our starters were brought almost as soon as we sat down then our mains were brought while my son was still eating. We had to ask for the table to be cleared as it was full of dirty plates, glasses etc. Staff appeared as if they couldn't be bothered. The place was dirty, especially the toilets and counter with cobwebs etc. There were lots of flies and they were all around our table. The food wasn't great either. We were all disappointed with our meals. To top it off, the staff were swearing quite loudly just behind us. Nice location but better places to eat locally. Won't be returning.

We were really looking forward to a small, local, fresh food restaurant. This wasn’t quite what we expected. Prices we’re used to paying in London but for food which left us a little wanting and actually hungry!

Lovely coffee and great location But no welcome or smile from the staff, wet tables and chairs outside, slow service and slow to clear tables

It was TERRIBLE. We came in and we weren’t served and just sat in a queue than our waiter seemed as though they wanted to run off . Then we got our food and the whole time flies were round our heads and going on our food. For main I had fish and chips it was okay but it was so sweet and fishy then my mother seafood spaghetti and it tasted not right and was just inedible. Then after we had finished eating we saw the chef and he was dirty and greasy and it made us feel sick the only good thing about this restaurant was that the food was quick.

Potentially a great location. Understand the challenges of getting the right staff in place in these small villages… not mention the impact of 2nd home owners on these local communities… I did ask that either the cook or owner came and ate one of the dishes if they wanted me to pay for it, they declined and did not charge.. poor value all round
