Went for lunch but was terribly disappointed, ordered from the garden menu the chicken wings with hot sauce, when it came to table the chicken was deep fried to destruction and at best it was a bone picking exercise to find any meat on the bones at all and a whopping £8 for a portion of said bone I left feeling totally ripped off, on complaining was just told my comments would be passed on. Won't be going back there for any food that's for certain
Lovely food in very pleasant surroundings pre-booked conservatory). Attentive staff. Food was very fresh and hot! not always the case in eateries). Would recommend.
We hadn’t visited for food for a while as the quality had really gone down but tried Sunday lunch a few weeks ago. It was nice but we thought the portion size to be a bit small so not value for money. We popped in again today and had a lovely roast, much larger portions and the introduction of a hot meat cob served with roast potatoes and gravy. Give them a try.
During the hours of 12pm to 2pm on Wednesday to Friday, the restaurant offers two meals for £15. I can confidently say that the meals are fantastic. I ordered the roast of the day, which included two large slices of turkey, peas, swede, brussels sprouts, new potatoes, and the best roast potatoes I've ever had. It was just the right amount of food. My wife had scampi with peas, tartare sauce, and a generous portion of chips, which she washed down with a glass of chardonnay and a pint of Black Country Special. All of this came to less than £23, making it an absolute bargain.
