The Vine Public House

This was my second visit, always resisting temptation to review any establishment after a one off. I have to say my opinion didn 't alter. On the first visit Emma was the staff lead. You have to appreciate this is a pub and is rated as such. My experience was excellent. Staff were friendly, courteous and efficient. The food, whilt being pub grub was well cooked and nicely served. There is quite and extensive menu which wpu;d, I think. cater for all tastes. To accompany the food was a good selection of real ales and beers available. The pub is thankfully dog friendly and popular with walkers which can lead to busy times so you might be advised to book a table just in case. One thing to note: If you park in the car park you must enter your car registration on the digital screen, found on the top of the bar. Today Olivia was head of house. There was no change to the welcome recieved or the service provided, or the standard of food, all remained excellent. I have no hesitation recommending this pub but I 've only been there at lunchtime so can 't comment on the evening service or atmosphere.

Nice food, good choice for vegans. Waited a while for the food, but overall an okay experience. Wouldn't come here regularly but if you're looking for something a bit more pricey and high end, this is the place

Upon my arrival at The Vine, I was greeted by lovely staff and enjoyed a great meal. However, I was shocked to later receive a £100 parking fine. There was no parking meter in sight in the car park and no staff informed me of any parking fees. I am extremely disappointed as I have always enjoyed dining at this pub in the past. I doubt I will be returning and I will not be recommending this venue to my friends due to the unexpected fine.

Tuesday evening we went to the Vine. We hadn’t booked but we were welcomed and offered a table of our own choice. The subsequent meal was excellent with a Lasagne and Cod and chunky chips. Prosecco wine was a little expensive in comparison with other wines but very good. The service was impeccable.

Being fairly new to the area I was looking for somewhere for our wedding anniversary meal. I chose The Vine as I had seen other reviews photos of their food. We had the Stilton Mushroom starter, which was so tasty, followed by roast beef Sunday lunch. We couldn't fault a thing. The food was lovely, the service perfect its so nice when you order drinks at the bar and they're brought to your table. Would recommend this place for a quality meal with great service, and I'm certain we will return.
