While the pho dish isn’t for me (my partner’s favourite! there are loads of options to choose from across starters, mains and sides. I had a rice bowl with tofu and veggies. They also have a chicken substitute option but didn’t try that. Recommend!
Pho is a great option when you're looking for a vegan clear broth noodle soup and don't have time to go through all the mom-and-pop listings to find something a bit more authentic (and vegan). What's nice about Pho is they offer at least two vegan broths, one is closer to normal pho broth and the other is a spicy broth (but tends to be very limey). I've honestly been a bit underwhelmed by both broths at multiple Pho locations, but you can always add loads of sriracha and other toppings to your tasting. I love their tofu, which is very porous and holds a good volume of broth inside. The pho soup is made with the very thin pho noodles (not my favorite) and the spicy soup is made with the thick/round noodles, like spaghetti noodles (I love this noodle option). My overall verdict is, this is great if you're in a pinch or need to find a place that will satisfy vegans and non-vegans alike, as there are Pho locations everywhere and this is quite convenient. However, I'm more inclined to choose a local mom-and-pop if it's an option. Moreover, I've found the execution to be inconsistent across Pho locations. Overall Rating: 3-3.5
Congrats on the knowledgeable, attentive and very friendly staff! I usually go for the vegan spicy green pho and it's always a jackpot! Speed of service is excellent, food is up to my standards, and the vibe is great I definitely recommend this branch!
I have to admit that I was a bit underwhelmed by both broths at various pho places, but they do allow for customization with plenty of sriracha and other toppings to enhance the flavor. I really enjoy their tofu, which is quite porous and absorbs a good amount of broth. There are two types of noodles available: the very thin pho noodles (which aren’t my favorite) and a thicker, round noodle option, akin to spaghetti (which I really love). Overall, I think pho is a good option if you’re in a hurry or need to find a place that caters to both vegans and non-vegans alike, as there are pho restaurants everywhere, making it very convenient. However, I would still prefer to choose a local mom-and-pop restaurant whenever possible. I also found that some versions are not true to authentic pho.
It might be January, but the experience was still fantastic! The waiter proactively provided a separate vegan menu when we were seated, without us mentioning any dietary requirements. While the Pho dish isn't my favorite (my partner loves it!), there are plenty of options to choose from, including various starters, mains, and sides. I opted for a rice bowl with tofu and vegetables, and they also offer a chicken substitute, which I didn't try. I highly recommend this place!
