Spice World Caribbean Takeaway

I wanted to share my final thoughts on this restaurant, as I have been a loyal customer for over 5 years, as has my entire family. Unfortunately, it appears that they have closed down, which is devastating. My favorite dish was the brown stew chicken - the carrots and potatoes were soft and chunky, the chicken was tender, and the rice and peas were delicious. The food was so popular that it would sell out soon after opening, which is a testament to its quality. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they started offering delivery, which was a pleasant surprise. The family who owned the business were always kind and welcoming. This was a family-run establishment serving traditional family recipes. Even if they only had a small amount of your favorite dish left, they would still try to make a meal for you. However, it was best to arrive early to ensure you got your order in before it sold out. I will definitely miss Spice World.

This restaurant should be closed down. The woman behind the counter was nice until I complained about the goat curry I ordered to take away. It was full of bones and sauce, with no meat whatsoever. When I asked if it was a large portion, she said it wasn't even a child's portion. She called her husband over, who refunded me after I explained the situation. However, she tried to argue with me, insisting that I didn't know what I was talking about. I told her I wasn't there to argue, just to get a refund, which I eventually received. The prices are high for what you get. I ended up going to the chip shop next door, where even they said the portion size was inadequate. The food is awful, the service is terrible, and overall, it's best to avoid this place.

This restaurant serves the best authentic food you can find. The woman behind the counter was lovely and friendly, and her food is amazing. You won't regret visiting this place - it's like home-cooked food that your mother would make. Absolutely delicious.

Friendly, professional helpful service. Delicious authentic Caribbean food! My Stew Chicken, Rice n Peas with coleslaw which was made especially for me, was ‘finger licking’ good! It was lovely to have a taste of the Caribbean in the heart of Southampton.

Massively overpriced and food was truly terrible, it ended up straight in the bin avoid at all costs
