Chip's Family - Southbury

The food was fantastic! I'm not usually a fan of pancakes, but these were incredible. However, I deducted a star because it took an eternity for the waiter to take our drink order.

What a fantastic addition to Southbury! We really needed a more varied breakfast option. My fiancé and I have been visiting this restaurant for the past two weeks for a nice sit-down breakfast, and each time has been amazing. The pancakes are hot and fluffy, the eggs are cooked perfectly over medium, and the service is consistently excellent. It has become the highlight of my Sunday routine!

We stopped by yesterday after our hike. The restaurant is clean, the manager is very friendly, and our server Khris was excellent. It was tough to decide on which pancakes to order, but we went with the traditional buttermilk topped with strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. The tilapia was cooked to perfection; it was out of this world. We will definitely be back!

Chip's would definitely be my way to the diner if I lived in CT. The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. Our server, Anthony, was very friendly, attentive, but above all patient. I came here to try their “speciality” pancakes. If you are not as prefabricated options they offer, you have the opportunity to build your own pancakes. I ordered the 2x2x2x2x2x2 and replaced the simple buttermilk pancakes for the speciality Coconut Crunch pancake for an additional cost and it was worth it. The pancakes were large, fluffy and melted in the mouth; simply delicious. If you get other foods next to your pancakes, I would recommend getting a short stack because the pancakes are quite full and a bit sweeter than expected. I definitely come back to try out their other menu items.

Their pancakes are famous for a reason, they are quite possibly the best anywhere on the planet. They have many flavor options but the cinnabon pancakes are a must try. Im sure the other foods on the extensive menue are probably good too, but you would have to be out of your mind to go here and not get the pancakes. The service is always fast and courteous. Be prepared for a line at peak breakfast hours but it is definitely worth it.
