Main Street Deli - Southbury

Before visiting Kettle Town State Park, we stopped for gas and picked up lunch to enjoy in the park. We ordered three different sandwiches – one hot and two cold – and they were generously stuffed and quite large. The homemade salads were also delicious.

This small branch is quite cramped, making it difficult to move around, especially if there are two customers present. Despite my initial reluctance to return, the staff's exceptional service keeps drawing me back. Although waits can be long, it's usually due to customers who are unsure of what they want, rather than any delays from the staff. I've noticed that there are often lottery players who seem to cause hold-ups at the registers. There is also a second, more modern location on Main Street that offers friendly service, although it lacks a deli counter. I typically prefer that spot unless I’m just grabbing a quick sandwich, which is always as good as anywhere else in town and cheaper.

The restaurant is always clean and offers reasonable gas prices. I've heard great things about the Deli. The staff is polite and friendly, although I've had issues with my debit card not working on the reader.

Breakfast sandwiches made to order good meat and fresh roll with real eggs. Also a good selection of coffees. Oh, how I miss this place since I moved to New York. Thanks guys for breakfast.

Very convenient. The owner and staff are friendly and the sandwiches are a great value. A very good sandwich for the price. This is exactly what I expect from a convenient store/gas station/deli.
