This is a great Mexican restaurant if you're in search of quality food that caters to American palates. The nachos with salsa served before the meal were particularly fresh and tasty. It's been years since I last visited Señor Ponchos in Southbury, and it was just as wonderful as I remembered. They serve the best chips and salsa I've had since living in LA. I ordered the combo plate called El Jefe, which included a cheese enchilada, a chicken chimichanga, and a carne asada street taco, accompanied by rice and refried beans. Everything was excellent! My friend tried the Gringo steak special and said it was fantastic. The menu is impressive, and the staff were extremely friendly, contributing to a lovely atmosphere.
