Afternoon Tea At Aurum

Went last Sunday for roast as it was Hubby's birthday the day before. It was lovely. Probably the best I have had. We both had the Roast Beef, it was just melt in the mouth. Potatoes were cooked to perfection, as was the veg. Did not have starters, if we had doubt we'd have room for dessert. Hubby had Creme Brulee I had Baked Alaska Not had for about 40 years, it was worth the wait! . We were not rushed at all, which is great, but service was attentive. I admit it was quiet and if they were busy it might have been slightly different, but I doubt it somehow. We had a lovely view, which was a bonus. I have made hubby book for my Birthday, because why should he always have the best!

Living locally allows us to visit this restaurant at a moment's notice and enjoy the beautiful views of the estuary on a late summer day. It is ideal for avoiding the tourist crowds. We chose to sit inside and order from the bar terrace menu. The service was exceptional, with water provided for our table. Despite our waitress admitting she was new to the venue, everything was very efficient. We had a variety of small plates to share, including fries, lamb kebabs, duck salad, and Thai balls with dipping sauce. Everything was delicious, except for the duck salad which lacked crispiness and quickly became soggy. It could benefit from added texture, such as small wraps. The prices were a bit higher than expected, but the food was tasty and well-presented. We, along with other guests, asked for the air conditioning to be turned off, and our request was promptly granted. We are excited to try their Indian tasting plates, which seem to be offered annually and are highly sought after. We will have to book quickly before they sell out.

Absolutely delicious meal. Six of us ate there and all of us enjoyed each of our starters and main courses. Service very good relaxed and friendly.

This was well decirated with a nice vibe.The foid was lovely although one of our griup felt tge sauce with the salmon was overpowering and quite sour.Food ordering was quick but delivery was really slow at keast forty minute wait for foid to arrive had to feed meter again.

Quality of the food was good but the service by the manager wasn’t what I would consider breakfast service. Far from restaurant standards. Not sure I’ll go back again sadly.
