East Coast Social - Southend-on-Sea

The food and drinks at this restaurant were great, but the service was terrible. Our party of 25 people had 3 tables, which we understood, but we were not allowed to move or swap seats to talk to each other. Guests who arrived late were not allowed to sit with us and were sent downstairs to the bar area, which we found unacceptable. We were told each table would receive a separate bill, but then one table's food was added to another, making payment more difficult. The person in charge spoke rudely to our guests when they tried to switch tables, and ultimately combined two tables' bills despite telling us not to swap. We will not be returning to this restaurant due to the uncomfortable experience and rude treatment we received.

We visited East Coast Social for my son's 18th birthday. The staff was warm and friendly, and the food was fantastic. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We waited over an hour for our meals, it got to the point where we had to ask how much longer the food would be as people were going past the point of hunger. During this time we ask multiple times for the air con to be turned down or off as it was blowing directly onto the table of which nothing was done about it. When the food did arrive the burgers were under cooked. So overall the dinning experience was very poor on this occasion.

Treated my partner to a meal using groupon. He and I had a beautiful steak dinner each and it was perfect as the hot stone allowed us to cook how we like it. The cut of meat was scrummy and the house red wine was nice.

The food was delightful. I used a Groupon for my visit and I plan on coming back soon.
