The Manhattan - SOUTHINGTON

We've been to the Manhattan in the past and have always enjoyed our meal. The service was always good and we left satisfied. This time our experience was not as good as in the past. We went with another couple who had also been there before and none of the 4 of us really felt it was a great experience this time. I won't write them off for one mediocre experience but I'm also in not rush to go back.

The Manhattan is truly a hidden gem near the heart of a small town, Southington. First, and foremost, the food is expertly prepared by an exceptionally gifted chef, combining Portuguese influences, Paellas, fabulous tapas choices, and a range of delicious entrees covering most taste preferences. The decor and ambiance are tasteful and welcoming. The owners and manager are extremely friendly, warm, and clearly interested in your having a great culinary experience. On the night we recently dined there, they had a fantastic Caribbean steel drum band which added significantly to our experience. The place was abuzz with lively chatter, dancing, and good spirits. Speaking of spirits, the Manhattan also has a marvelous selection of delicious Manhattan and other cocktails. You will enjoy this venue. I promise!

The waiter really messed up our order. We got our shared appetizer with my husbands meal my meal never came out. He said to get what I ordered would be a 30 min wait so they brought me a duplicate meal of what my husband got. Spoke to the head waiter because our waiter bailed wouldn't explain things to us. In the end we paid nothing received a $50 gift card. Other than going back to use the GC I think we are done ever going there again.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Great selection of tapas and the Brussels sprout salad excellent. The management and staff are professional and service great. Love the fact that they offer a mocktail list.

The food was amazing. The atmosphere was very romantic. I would definitely go there again.
